Students Attendance SOP 52

A student is expected to attend 100% of the classes held


in an academic year. Under extenuating circumstances,
up to 20% shortage (including absentees/ leaves, both
medical and casual) of attendance may be condoned.
Maximum number of leaves / absentees can be condoned
as per following policy: -
 DAE Students: –
Up to 20% shortage or a maximum of 25 days /

 Short Courses: -
 Three months course: -
Up to 20% shortage or a maximum of 9 days / course
 Six months course: -
Up to 20% shortage or a maximum of 12 days / course
A minimum requirement for a student to appear in final exams
is as under;
A candidate must have completed 80% attendance of
prescribed classes (including theory and practical) in order to
be eligible to appear in the examination.

• Students will be issued with a total of three (3) warnings after


which he may be withdrawn from the course.
• One copy of warning will be shared with his / her parents and
training branch each. The schedule of warnings will be as under;
• 1st Warning: A student will be issued with a 1 st warning on the
basis of absenteeism after his / her leaves / absentees reach
collectively to 1/3rd of the total allowed leverage and will record his
remarks on student warning register.

2nd Warning: 2nd warning will be issued after his / her leaves / absentees
reach collectively to 2/3rd of the total allowed leverage. Parents /
guardians of the student will be called for meeting with concerned head
of department to discuss the matter.
3rd Warning: 3rd and final warning will be issued as the number of his /
her leaves / absentees reach collectively to the maximum limit that can
be condoned. Parents / guardians of the student will be called for
meeting with the training officer to discuss the matter.
