In today’s fast passed life, people tend to be


busy with a lot of things that at the end of the
day, they usually than accomplished. With so
many things that needs to be done, people are
always faced with so much stress that takes a
full on the body over time.
WHAT IS IT IMPORTANT TO TAKE
CHARGE?

Taking charge is an important form of pro-


active behavior that sustains organizational
survival and individual development.
STRESS IS AN EVENT THAT CAN CAUSE
HARM TO SOMEONES PYSCHOLOGICAL
AND PHYSICAL WELL BEING. IT CAN GO
FROM MILD TO SERVER DEPENDING ON
THE PERSON THAT IS EXPERIENCING IT.
THE TWO TYPES OF STRESS

• NEGATIVE
• AND
• POSITIVE
CHARACTERISTICS OF NEGATIVE
STRESS
• Causes anxiety or concern – A big event or a build up
of smaller stressful life situations may trigger excessive
anxiety.

• Can be short or long term

• Is perceived as outside of our coping abilities


• Feels unpleasant – It is negative emotions are
unpleasant and disruptive emotional reactions.

• Decrease performance

• Can lead to mental and physical problems –


The genes that makes it more likely that you
will develop a mental health problem may also
play part in physical health problems.
• Relationship problems

• Unemployment

• Employee

• Injury
CHARACTERISTICS OF POSITIVE
STRESS
• Motivates, focuses energy – Motivation
essentially is our energy flowing through us.
• Is perceived as within our coping abilities.
• Feel exciting
• Improves performance – a form of organizational
development with the focus on improving an
employee’s, team’s or company’s way of working
by increasing outputs and upgrading efficiency
for selected procedures.
