LINE
 A Mark that is made on a surface or outline
Defined by a point moving on a space
 can be two-or-three dimensional

A. HORIZONTAL LINE _________
Lines that run parallel to the ground
B. VERTICAL LINE
Lines that move up and down
C. DIAGONAL LINE E. ZIGZAG LINE

D. CURVED LINE
 Lines that change directions gradually
SHAPE
• It has two dimensions, length as well as width
• When lines form together, they make flat shapes
CATEGORIES OF SHAPE
A. Geometric Shapes
 Also called as regular shapes
 These are shapes that are easy to recognize and is use
in math information also
B. ORGANIC SHAPES
• Also called as Freeform shapes
• These are shapes that seem to follow no rules
• Figures that have natural look and a
flowing, curving appearance.

VALUE
Refers to the changes in the base col

It can also mean the way an artist uses
the area within the picture plane.

PRINCIPLES OF ART
The rules and techniques that artists use
to create works of art. They can also be
used as basis in saying something about
the works of an art.
Represents how those building blocks or
elements are organized or arranged.
RHYTHM OR MOVEMENT
An art of refers to the repetition of a
motif or elements of art(lines, shapes,
colors, etc.)
The visual path that a viewer’s eye
follow across a work of art or the
implied movement of lines:Horizontal
(calm and still), vertical(strong, at
attention) and diagonal(action) lines;
movement and rhythm work together
to create a visual “beat”.
BALANCE
Refers the distribution of
“visual weight” by the
arrangement of elements
