TESTING BACKGROUND

• THE TEST IS CARRIED OUT AT EVERY SATURDAY OF THE WEEK.


• PUMPS INVOLVED – JOCKEY PUMPS, ELECTRIC DUTY PUMP NO.1, ELECTRIC DUTY
PUMP NO.2 AND DIESEL PUMP
• TOTAL PUMPS TO BE TESTED – 4 NOS.
PRE-TEST CHECK

• DIESEL TANK LEVEL AND


OUTLET VALVE AT OPEN POSITION
PRE-TEST CHECK

• BATTERY VOLTAGE LEVEL AND


BATTERY CHARGER AT ON POSITION.
PRE-TEST CHECK

• DIESEL ENGINE LUBE OIL AND RADIATOR LEVEL.


PRE-TEST CHECK

• CONFIRM AUTO/MANUAL POSITION AND


INCOMING ELECTRICAL 415V SUPPLY AVAILABLE.
• IF SUPPLY NOT AVAILABLE, CHECK
THE 415V BREAKER AT ST MCC ROOM
TEST PROCEDURE

1.JOCKEY PUMP
• TESTING THE JOCKEY PUMP
• PUT JOCKEY PUMP AT AUTO POSITION
• PUT OTHER PUMPS AT MANUAL SELECTION
• OPEN THE DRAIN VALVE SLOWLY (AT PRESSURE SWITCH)
• OBSERVE LINE PRESSURE DROP FROM 14.0 BAR TO
ITS SETTING 10.0 BAR, JOCKEY PUMP SHOULD CUT IN.
• CLOSE BACK THE DRAIN VALVE.

2. ELECTRIC DUTY PUMP NO.1


• TESTING THE ELECTRIC DUTY PUMP NO.1
• PUT ELECTRIC DUTY PUMP NO.1 AT AUTO POSITION
• PUT OTHER PUMPS AT MANUAL SELECTION
• OPEN THE DRAIN VALVE SLOWLY (AT PRESSURE SWITCH)
• OBSERVE LINE PRESSURE DROP FROM 14.0 BAR TO ITS
SETTING 9.0 BAR, ELECTRIC DUTY PUMP NO.1 SHOULD CUT IN.
• CLOSE BACK THE DRAIN VALVE.

3. ELECTRIC DUTY PUMP NO.2


• TESTING THE ELECTRIC DUTY PUMP NO.2
• PUT ELECTRIC DUTY PUMP NO.2 AT AUTO POSITION
• PUT OTHER PUMPS AT MANUAL SELECTION
• OPEN THE DRAIN VALVE SLOWLY (AT PRESSURE SWITCH)
• OBSERVE LINE PRESSURE DROP FROM 14.0 BAR TO ITS
SETTING 8.0 BAR, ELECTRIC DUTY PUMP NO.2 SHOULD CUT IN.
• CLOSE BACK THE DRAIN VALVE.

4. DIESEL PUMP
• TESTING THE DIESEL PUMP
• PUT DIESEL PUMP SELECTOR AT AUTO POSITION
• PUT OTHER PUMPS AT MANUAL SELECTION
• OPEN THE DRAIN VALVE SLOWLY (AT PRESSURE SWITCH)
• OBSERVE LINE PRESSURE DROP FROM 14.0 BAR TO ITS
SETTING 7.0 BAR, DIESEL PUMP SHOULD CUT IN.
• CLOSE BACK THE DRAIN VALVE.
NORMALISATION
• CHECK DRAIN VALVE AT CLOSE POSITION
• CHECK BATTERY AND CHARGER IN NORMAL CONDITION.
• CONFIRM 415V SUPPLY AVAILABLE
• CHECK ALL PUMPS SELECTION AT AUTO POSITION
