HISTORY!
Taking its name from Philip II, King of Spain
during the Spanish colonisation of the area
during the 16th century, the Philippines
became an independent state in the early
1900s. Following 333 years of Spanish rule,
the Spanish influences on their culture left a
unique legacy, from ancient buildings to
words used to describe certain areas to
historic landmarks in the Philippines.
