ELECTRONIC HEALTH

RECORD SYSTEM
Presented by:
 Syed Haider Ali Shah
 Ubaid Nasir
 Zaib Ali
 Zaib Ahmad Kayani
BY THE END OF PRESENTATION
WE WILL BE ABLE TO;

 Introduce the “Electronic health record system- EHR”.

 Understand the benefits of the “Electronic health record

system- EHR”.

 Overview to the EHR features, Advantages, implementation

and tools & technologies.

INTRODUCTION TO EHR
 An EHR is a longitudinal digital record of a patient’s health information,
such as demographical information, medical history, diagnoses,
medications, radiology images, laboratory data, healthcare workers’
notes and other clinically relevant information.

 EHR could be considered the digital equivalent of the classic paper or

computer-based health record of a patient, it differs from the traditional
record in important ways.

 Most notably, an EHR is an integrated record, containing information from

all healthcare workers involved in a patient’s care.

 Information can be accessed instantly and securely by authorized users.

 EHRs have many anticipated functional benefits, such as improved quality,

safety, and cost-effectiveness of care, and enhanced clinical decision-making.
EHR BENEFITS
 EHR is the new theme that could play a vital role towards uplifting and
streamlining the Health records, pressing need of the current era”.

 EHR improves data integrity, more easily readable, better organized

and more accurate and complete.

 Allow access to evidence-based tools that providers can use to make

decisions about a patients care.

 It is capable of being shared with other providers across more than one
health-care organizations.

 Digital records allow for better tracking and more standardized

documentation of patients interactions, which has the potential to reduce
errors.

 EHR’s increase productivity and efficiency while cutting down on

paperwork. Patients and staff have fever forms to fill out, leaving
clinicians with more time to examine other patients.
EHR FEATURES
 The EHR app inputs the info into the scheduling system in order to keep it
updated about the most recent appointments.

 The EHR software tracks patients’ journeys and updates the receptionists
about their status. This feature enables personnel to monitor peak times and
send wait notifications.

 The EHR system also assigns work tasks, redirects and delegates them to
other parties, and monitors their completion.

 EHR software is capable of generating clinical documentation such as

individual healthcare plans, guidelines, protocols, etc.

 The EHR redirects the list of prescribed medications directly to the drugstore.
On top of that, the system analyzes the compatibility of the drugs and
suggests optimal dosages.

 EHR apps can tag patients’ data as classified and share only parts of their
medical chart in order to protect privacy.
EHR ADVANTAGES
 Enhancing privacy and security of patient data.

 This project can be useful for (private and government owned) medical
organizations.

 Helping promote legible, complete documentation and accurate, streamlined

coding and billing.

 Enabling quick access to patient records for more coordinated, efficient care.

 Helping providers more effectively diagnose patients, reduce medical errors ,

and provide safer care.

 An EHR almost always includes information relating to the current and

historical health, medical conditions and medical tests of its subject.
