CIRCULATORY

SYSTEM
BY : IMAN MUNEEB
GRADE:7 ISTANBUL
WHAT DOES THE CIRCULATORY
SYSTEM CONSIST OF ?
• THE CIRCULATORY SYSTEM IS MADE UP OF HEART AND BLOOD VESSELS
THE HUMAN HEART
• THE HUMAN HEART IS THE MAIN ORGAN IN THE CIRCULATORY SYSTEM . IT CONTRACTS
AND PUMPS BLOOD AND IT ALSO CONTAINS VALVES THAT HELP BLOOD TO PASS BUT IT
ONLY ALLOWS IT TO MOVE OUT NOT BACK INTO THE HEART.YOUR HEART AS BIG AS
YOUR CLOSED FIST AND IT IS SLIGHTLY TO THE LEFT OF YOUR CHEST.THE AMOUNT OF
TIME HEART BEATS IN ONE MINUTES.
BLOOD VESSELS
• BLOOD VESSELS ARE THE TUBES THAT CARRY BLOOD . THERE ARE DIFFERENT TYPES
• ARTERY
• VEIN
• CAPILLARY
ARTERIES
Arteries are the blood vessels that carry blood away from heart. They have thicker walls and smaller space
for blood. You can feel your pulse in artery since the pressure in artery is more . The main artery is aorta
which transports blood to all organs and has smaller branches . There is one exceptional artery called
pulmonary artery which takes blood towards the heart.
veins
• Veins are the blood vessels that take blood towards the hearts (deoxygenated).Veins have a similar
structure to arteries but their wall is much thinner and space is larger with less pressure. Like arteries
vein also have a exceptional vein that carries blood away from heart.
capillaries
• Describe capillaries. Your body is filled with tiny blood channels called capillaries. To the cells in your
organs and bodily systems, they deliver blood, nutrients, and oxygen. The tiniest blood veins in your
circulatory system are called capillaries.
Valves
• The heart's valves function as doors for the body. To allow blood to go from one part of your heart to
another, they open and close. They aid in ensuring that blood flows appropriately and in the right
direction. Your heartbeat is produced by the two noises made by the valves when they open and close.

What happens during heart attack ?
• The heart muscle tissue dies during a heart attack due to a lack of blood flow. When the blood supply to
the heart is significantly impeded or blocked, a heart attack happens. The accumulation of fat,
cholesterol, and other chemicals in the heart's (coronary) arteries is typically what causes the obstruction.
Lungs
• After entering the lungs, oxygen travels through your body's bloodstream. The waste gas carbon dioxide
is exchanged for oxygen at each cell in your body. This waste gas is then transported by your
bloodstream back to your lungs, where it is expelled after being eliminated from the bloodstream.
Blood cells
• There are two types white blood cells and red blood cells. The major job of the red blood cell is to
transport oxygen from the lungs and distribute it all over our body. Additionally, red blood cells carry
wastes like carbon dioxide back to the lungs for exhalation. Hemoglobin, a protein found in red blood
cells, allows them to carry oxygen. The immune system of the body includes white blood cells. They
support the body's defenses against illness and infection.
Plasma
• The liquid component of blood is called plasma. Our blood contains about 55% plasma while the
remaining 45% is made up of suspended red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. About 92% of
plasma is water.
Platelets
• Our blood contains platelets, which are tiny, colourless cell fragments that help to stop or slow bleeding.
Our bone marrow, the sponge-like tissue found inside our bones, is where platelets are created. Red
blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets are all created from stem cells found in bone marrow.
That’s it
• Thank you for taking the time to assess our project; we appreciate it.
