BACKGROUND AND
RATIONALE
• The number of enrolees in Balijuagan National High School
was affected when the pandemic arose, this also results in
change of learning set-up for the learner.

• This study determined the effectiveness of the implementation of the

Tulong- Dunong project in elevating the problems encountered during
this time of pandemic. it provided solutions to improve the
implementation of modular learning.
Research Questions
1. What is the level of performance of the learners in
English before the implementation of the Project
Tulong-Dunong?

2. What is the level of performance of the learners in

English after the implementation of Project Tulong-
Dunong?
3. Is there a significant difference on the level of
performance of the learners before and after the
implementation of Project Tulong-Dunong?

4. What action must be undertaken in order to

improve the implementation of modular learning
of Balijuagan National High School?
5. What are the insights and experiences of the participants and the
researcher in the conduct of this study.

RESEARCH methodology
• This study employed the pretest-intervention-posttest design to
determine the effect of PROJECT ‘TULONG-DUNONG’
• The participants of this study were the twenty-one (21) identified
Grade 9 students enrolled at Balijuagan National High School who
lagged behind in their modular learning.
RESEARCH findings
The mean results of 13.33 with standard deviation of 9.57 in the
pretest was described as ‘fairly satisfactory’.

On the other hand, posttest results showed a total mean score of

25.24 with the computed standard deviation of 7.76 which was
described as satisfactory.
Conclusions
The performance of the learners before the conduct of the intervention
showed fairly satisfactory results which needs to be enhanced.

The researchers engaged the participation of two (2) teacher-advisers of

Grade 9; An intervention using virtual kamustahan, home visitation, and
personal delivery of modules were employed to bridge the literacy of
learners.
There was an improvement in the level of
performance of Grade 9 students after the
conduct of the intervention with a
satisfactory result. However, this result may
still be improved further to attain
outstanding level.
Significant differences existed in the level of
performance of Grade 9 participants before and
after the intervention.

This means that Project Tulong-Dunong was an effective

intervention to improve the performance of learners in
submitting selflearning modules, written tasks, and
performance tasks.
Hence, the initiation of this project realized a positive
outcome in improving the performance of the learners.

Recommendations
1. Conduct of virtual kamustahan with the learners
in order to update of their status.
2. Have a dialogue with the parents. Engage them in
nurturing the learners if virtual kamustahan is not
feasible for all.

3. Provide more alternatives to bridge literacy. This

may include home visitation, parents’ counselling,
limited face to face meeting, and sending letters or
notes to the parents.
4. Connect with the community. Employ the assistance of
the Local Government Units, Parent-teacher association,
neighboring households, etc.

5. Create a task-force school committee that will

focus on encouraging the learners to study and will
provide aid for their needs.
6. Develop curriculum-based research or innovation
to enhance the teaching and learning process.

7. Communicate your ideas. It’s better to do a

deed with a friend who is always there when you
are in need.
8. Acknowledge the strengths and weaknesses of
your research design as well as the target
participants.
THANK YOU!
