2
WHY?

• I came with this idea, because i think it might be innovative or let's say an upgrade for our
country compared to what we have now.
...Is the idea of producing solar electricity.

3
WHAT IS THE REASON?

• Based on my personal experience of what

i've seen and felt i think we should get rid of
Coal-fired power plants as soon as possible
and switch to Solar electricity,
for better health and
financial purposes.

4
HOW BAD IS IT?

• One of the main causes in Kosovo and around the world is air pollution from coal-fired
power plants that cause cancer, heart and lung disease, acid rain, global warming and other
serious impacts on the environment and our health.

5
OBILIQ
Huge risk to water, soil and air!

6
WHAT IS SOLAR ENERGY?

• Solar energy is energy (light or heat)

provided by the sun, it’s radiant energy,
which makes the production of solar
electricity, light, heat water and many
more things possible.

7
• Thermal Energy & Electric Energy

• Thermal Energy is everywhere. It’s lights

up our days. It heats our cars, our bodies
and our homes, dries our clothes. Most
important, sun grows our food. All for free!

• Electric Energy uses the power of the

sun to produce electricity through solar
cells, otherwise known as Photovoltaics
(PV).

8
• Solar Panels are commonly called Photovoltaic Panels (PV Panels)
• Photo means light and voltaic means electricity.
• Photovoltaic panels are made from Silicon which is the same material that makes up sand.
• Silicon is heated to extremely high temperatures at a factory, and then formed into very thin
layers
• When the sunlight hits the PV panel, it moves around tiny particles of silicon called
electrons.
• The silicon electrons travel though the wires that are built into the PV panel to create
energy!

S.W.O.T ANALYSIS
Strengths Weaknesses
• Environmental benefits • Gap in skills, knowledge
• Rich Solar resource • Financial issues
• It is not harmful to health
• Power source long life and very low
cost of operation

Opportunities Threats
• Be faster, better • Dominant position of coal fuels
• Reduce costs • Transport costs
• increasing world wide awareness of • Government issues and support
Climate changes • Tax
• Maintenance costs

13
EXAMPLES

• We can take as an example Germany where every German citizen enjoys financial support
from the city in which he lives up to a certain percentage, in which case not only do we have
a reduction in citizen’s expenses, but at the same time an increase in the demand of the
citizens for such an investment helps to increase the production of solar equipment or
panels, which means that we will have a high number of employees in their production.

14
ADVANTAGES AND COMPARISON WITH THAT OF
COAL
Adventages of solar energy:

1. Solar power is pollution free and causes no gases to be emitted after installation.
2. Renewable clean power that is available every day of the year, even cloudy days produce some power.
3. Return on investment unlike paying for utility bills.
4. Creates jobs by employing solar panel manufacturers, solar installers, etc. and in turn helps the economy.
5. Excess power can be sold back to the power company if grid intertied.
6. Can be installed virtually anywhere; in a field to on a building.
7. Solar can be used to heat water, power homes and building
8. Safer than traditional current electric
…and so on.

15
1. It Increases Carbon Dioxide in the Environment.
2. Coal power can create high levels of radiation.
3. It'll Eventually Run out Someday.
4. It Produces Acid Rain
5. Coal displaces human settlements.
Etc..

16
LASTLY

• It is worth mentioning the reason that it is not of a financial nature but has to do with
environmental protection, unnecessary air pollution, that nowadays is the number one
problem in the world and therefore i think that supporting such an idea it should be not
only a goal of an entrepreneur, but also of the state itself.
