level of micronutrients such as golden rice contain
vitamin A)
• food security
3. Economic stability
• machinery, fertilizers, insecticides, pesticides
improved crop yield
• improved crop seeds produce more yield and variety
helps us to export which stabilize our economy and
make farmer wealthy
4. Employment
• increased crop yield promoted industrialization which
require labour
• export sector
• transport and other food processes require labour
Negative impacts

1. environmental degradation
• land,water,air pollution by human activites
• over use of fertilizers, insecticides, pesticides can
cause soil erosion, water pollution air pollution
2. Health impacts
• heavy use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides can be
toxic for human health
• exposure to them can cause wide range health
impacts include cancer
