Non-periodic Excitation

( Arbitrary Excitation)

Dr.Mahmud R .Ismail 2018

Non-periodic Excitation
Ref: Chapter 4 ,Thomson

 Harmonic steady-state excitation and

response are conveniently described in the
frequency domain.
 For non-periodic excitation and response,
time domain technique is more suitable.
 System response to the unit impulse, called
the impulse response, will be first studied.
Then, this fundamental response will be used
to determine the response of the system to
arbitrary excitation.
