Literature
Review
Dayak Onion (Eleutherine Palmifolia L. Merr)

Dayak onions have been studied by several researchers, such as

antioxidant research on Dayak onions. One of the studies is the Dayak
onion tuber extract test from the toxic extract test, the phytochemical
analysis test, the anti-oxidant test
Mangosteen (Gracinia mangostana L.)

Mangosteen peel has many recognized benefits, and already has

mangosteen peel extract products which are considered to have
antioxidant effects.

Mangosteen peel extract has been studied by researchers, where

the results obtained positive antioxidant results. and compounds
are obtained. xenthenon which is an antioxidant derivative that is
useful as an anticancer and anti-bacterial
Effervescent tablet

Effervescent tablets are tablets that are soluble in water.

Effervescent tablets are made of a substance capable of
releasing CO2 and a substance that induces the release of CO2.
The formation of carbon dioxide in effervescent tablets is the
result of a chemical reaction that occurs between a carbonate
or bicarbonate salt and a weak organic acid in the presence of
water.
The reaction that occurs in effervescent tablets

Antioksidant

Antioxidants are compounds that are able to protect body cells

from the adverse effects of free radicals. These free radicals are
reactive substances that are produced from metabolic secretions
in the body that cannot leave the body. So that it can worsen the
body so that it can reduce the body's immune system.
NULL HYPOTHESIS

1.Effervescent tablet formulation cannot be made with a

combination of Dayak onion extract and mangosteen peel
extract.
2.The combination of antioxidants from Dayak onion
extract and mangosteen peel extract has a toxic effect.
PROBLEM STEATMENT

1. Making effervescent tablets from Dayak onion extract

dissolves in water in 8 minutes while the dissolving standard
is 2 minutes.
2. Effervescent tablets from Dayak onion extract and
mangosteen peel can result a synergistic antioxidant effect.
3. could not determine the concentration of the extract used for
the formulation test
OBJECTIVE

1.Making effervescent tablets of Dayak onion extract and

mangosteen peel has an antioxidant effect that can prevent various
diseases
2.Making traditional herbs into natural supplements that don't take
time to make.
MET HOD
S
The method used in this study was experimental, in which the effervescent tablet
formulation was added with 2 extracts containing antioxidants at once.

The procedures used in the antioxidant analysis are the BLST and DPPH methods.
1. BLST digunakan untuk uji Toksisitas
2. DPPH digunakan untuk uji Antioksidan

VS
EXPECTED OUTCOME

The results we hope for from this research proposal are the success
of making effervescent tablets with extracts from Dayak onion bulbs
and mangosteen rind which have antioxidant effects.
Our further hope in the research proposal is that this research can be
continued and developed into an herbal product and can be
developed in a more specific direction such as research for moderate
to severe diseases such as diabetes, hypertension and cancer.
