2nd Grading- week 9- Day 4

make relevant predictions about stories

What can we use to
make predictions?
When you give your
classmate a food for
recess, what do you
think he will feel?
PREDICTING A
STORY
Predicting a story is
an important
comprehension
strategy.
One will know his/her
level of understanding by
predicting what to
happen next using
pictures and/or stories.
A reader may make
predictions by
establishing the relationship
between words, ideas and/or
pictures in a
given story.
When we tell what will
happen next, we predict
outcomes or the future
results.
We base our prediction on
given clues.
When we guess about
what will happen next
based on the clues, we are
making predictions.
In reading a story, we
must develop the skill of
being able to tell what
will happen next based on
the given ideas.
We are making an
intelligent guess about
what can happen next in
a story.
