Think: Points to Ponder When Teaching Timbre.

1. how do I teach the difference between speaking and


singing?
(For grade 1)
Example:
Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall,
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall.
All the king’s horses and all the king’s men
Couldn’t put Humpty together again.
2. How do I teach different qualities of sound?
(For grade 1 to 3)

 Choose an easy song that the students are familiar with.


 While the students sings, instruct the entire class to listen
and to compare the qualities of voices.
 Use to play a recording of different sounds found in the
environment.
3. How Do I Present the topic about different
Musical Instrument (For grade 4 to 6)

 Prepare audio recordings along with visuals or


pictures of the instruments being taught.
 Plays the recording frequently so that the
students can take note of the differences
between the instrument.
4. How do I teach them the differences between SATB
(SOPRANO,ALTO,TENOR AND BASE)

 Teachers find an audio or a video recording


of a duet between two females voices .
 Teachers may use a recording of a full SATB
choir for the students to listen to.
 Soprano – A high female (or boy’s)
voice
 Alto – A low female (or boy’s) voice
 Tenor – A high (adult) male voice
 Bass – A low (adult) male voice
