Simple definition to past perfect continues


• We use the past perfect continuous to refer to an ongoing action that
ended before another action/event in the past.
When do we use past perfect continues
• The past perfect continuous tense (also known as the past perfect
progressive tense) shows that an action that started in the past
continued up until another time in the past.
