Comparison
Positive Degree
 simplest form of adjective used to modify
only one place, person or thing.

Comparative Degree
It is used to compare two or more place, person or thing.
 formed by adding -er
Superlative Degree
It is used to compare three or more place,
person or thing.
 formed by adding -est
Regular Adjectives
 Short adjectives form the comparative and
superlative degrees by adding –er and –est.
Positive Comparative Superlative
short shorter shortest

Regular Adjectives
 For adjectives with one or two syllables ending
in –y, change –y to i before adding –er or –est.
