TOURIST INFORMATION CENTRE IN SIKLES

WHY TOURIST COME IN SIKLES ?
Sikles village, located in the Annapurna region of
Nepal, is known for its beautiful natural scenery,
including the Annapurna mountain range and the
diverse local flora and fauna. The village is also known
for its unique culture and traditional way of life,
including local festivals, customs, and handicrafts.
Additionally, Sikles village is a popular destination for
trekking and outdoor activities, such as hiking and
camping, as it offers several well-known trekking
routes, including the Annapurna Circuit, Annapurna
Sanctuary, and the Mardi Himal trek.
Sikles also offers a great opportunity to experience the
rural life of Nepal, where visitors can live with local
families, learn about their cultures, and enjoy the local
hospitality.
All these factors make Sikles an attractive destination
for tourists who are interested in experiencing the
natural beauty, culture and traditional way of life of
Nepal.
. It also shows inflow of high value tourists
(Nepal Tourism Statistics, 2019). Tourists
visit new places for different seasons with
different purposes. Some visit for leisure,
some for rest, and for adventure, etc. The
highest percent of tourists (50 %) visited
Sikles for travelling purpose. They travelled
for their hobby of travelling which reflects
their travel for pleasure based on theory
and practice of touring enchanted by
natural attraction, enjoying
accommodation, and entertainment. T e
number was followed by adventure, and
relaxes purposes respectively. It also
indicates that in the globalised world
people want to be involved with new-
fangled activities. About 28 percent tourists
came to Sikles for adventure, for relaxing
(18%) and 4 percent for to get away from
hectic daily life.
WHY TOURIST INFORMATION CENTRE IN SIKLES ?
According to local people and ward president of Sikles village Dev Jang Gurung
 Tourist mostly come in winter season for see the beautiful himal range of Anapurna
 In spring seasons where sheer beauty of hills covered with rhododendrons.
 According to ward president of sikles village Dev Jang Gurung there have no exact data of tourist
visitor in Sikles but increased tourist flow rate day by day . To collect the aquirate data of tourist
and gives the right direction and gives more information about Sikles culture .The tourist
information center is require so , I supposed to design the Tourist Information Centre in Sikels
that help the tourist as well as local people because job opportunity will be increased whrn TIC is
built
Benefits of local people with the Tourist Information Centre:
 Provide a source of income: The tourist information centre can provide employment opportunities for
local people and help them earn money through tourism.
 Promote local culture and heritage: The centre can inform visitors about the history, culture, and
heritage of the village and surrounding areas, which can help preserve and promote local traditions.
 Support local businesses: The centre could work with local entrepreneurs to start their own
businesses related to tourism, such as homestays or craft shops.
 Provide training and resources: The centre could offer training and resources for local people to learn
about sustainable tourism practices, such as how to minimize their impact on the environment and
how to offer cultural experiences to visitors.

Often, these centres are operated at the airport or
other port of entry , by the local government or
chamber of commerce. Often a visitor
centre is called simply an information centre.

Through information, education and interpretation aids, opportunity to protect,


conserve and enhance recreational natural, historical and cultural resources.
Information centres enhance the public’s awareness and historical and resources.
