EASTERN UNIVERSITY HIGH
SCHOOL
INTRODUCTION
 Memes are image with humorous text and captions that are
posted on social media.
 Memes are not only used to entertain people but is also used
as a visual aid to teaching students.
 Memes are often used as a visual aid by teachers to improve
and help the students become more attentive in the class.

STATEMENT OF THE
PROBLEM
 The purpose of this research is to know the impact of memes as a teaching
tool in
enhancing class participation. The researchers aim to give answers as
evidence that
memes affect class participation. More specifically it attempts to find answers
to the
following research questions
1. Do memes improve the participation of the students in class? In terms of:
a. Age
b. Gender
c. Strand

 2. How effective memes are in enhancing the
class participation? In terms of:
a. Answers to general questions
 3. Is there a significant difference between using
memes in teaching and withoutmemes as a
teaching tool in enhancing class participation?
HYPOTHESIS OF THE STUDY
ALTERNATIVE HYPOTHESIS
 Using memes as teaching tool is effective in improving the
class participation of high scholl students of Far Eastern
University.

NULL HYPOTHESIS
 Using memes as teaching tool is not effective in improving the
class participation of the high school students of Far Eastern
University.
SCOPE AND DELIMITATION
 The focus of this study is to determine the effectiveness of
using memes as a teaching tool in Grade 12 students of Far
Eastern University for the Academic Year 2019-2020. The
data that will be obtained from individuals are only limited
to a
particular group of students using the Purposive Sampling
Method, precisely forty (40)
respondents from each strand, namely; STEM, HUMSS,
ABM, GAS-Arts and Design,
GAS-Sports, and GAS-Tourism.
RESEARCH DESIGN
 Quantitative type of research will be used as research design
- research questions were posed and a hypothesis was
formulated throughout the study.

 Dependent Variable :
Class Participation (in Far Eastern University High
School)

 Independent Variable :
usage of memes as a teaching tool
PARTICIPANTS

 Students from Far Eastern University High


School
 Purposive Sampling Method
 Power point presentations with memes and
without memes.
INSTRUMENTS

 Research made-questionnaire-
 First part: Fill in the Blanks
 Second Part: Likert Scale
 Third part: Multiple Choice Quiz
STATISTICAL TREATMENT

 This study will use quantitative design
