Background of G-IDSS Adoption

Necessity of Isuzu Own Scan Tool for the Next Term
• GM decided to develop a PC-based scan tool. As a result, Tech2 does not have a priority for further
development. Also, the development of the PC-based scan tool is slow and Isuzu cannot depend on
their development schedule.
→ Discontinuation of GM joint development
• Adoption of electronic control devices much accelerated for enhanced emission control and safety
control.
→ Higher skill level is required for repairing.
• Numbers of scan tool and other surrounding device are required due to high performance control
module protocols and OEM vehicles.

New Scan Tool ⇒ involving to the overall service tool

 Carry-over of current functions: Tech 2 functions (Data display, data download & upload, programming)
 Connection to internet: Data correction, online updates & information distribution
 Linking with workshop Manuals, wiring diagrams
 MIMAMORI/ DRM data downloading & analyzing
 Others……….
