CSB – Types of assessments
 Progress Assessments (PA) are short Maths and Science quizzes that occur once every
two weeks.
 Subject Assessments (SA) are longer written assessments that normally occur once or
twice a term per subject to check several weeks’ worth of knowledge and understanding.
 Class Assessments (CA) are alternatives to written Subject Assessments, and they often
take a more practical approach (presentations, performance, projects, etc.)
 End of Term Examinations/Final Exams assess students on all content and skills
covered during the term. The term three final examination is called the ‘End of Year’
exam because it covers content from all three terms.
 Homework and Exercise Book Scrutiny are both important tools that we use to assess
student understanding and to provide guidance.
 At CSB, 60% is the minimum passing mark.
