EARLY CHILD BEARING : Factors

 Peer pressure, drugs and substance abuse leading to compromised decisions;


 Irresponsible sexual behavior that frequently occurs in youth who do not have basic
information about sex and contraception.
 Early marriage and childbearing among adolescent females;
 Problems in parent-child relationship, poverty and material deprivation that may push
young people into survival sex in exchange of money and food.
 Failure to comply with religious principles and commandments prescribed by religious
ethics.
Health risk for EARLY CHILD BEARING

 Premature births
 Babies born with lower birthweight
 Problem with breast feedings
 Anemia, or low iron level during pregnancy
 High blood pressure
 Emotional and mental health problems
 Cervical cancer

Interventions

 Equipping girls with education, knowledge and skills to prevent early and unintended
pregnancy.

 Support adolescents by providing services to support both female and male teenagers who
find themselves struggles to cope with an unexpected pregnancy
 Reviewing and revising policies to protect young people from early child-bearing
-Anti Child Marriage Law
 Iron and folic acid supplements
 Developing healthy eating and exercise habits at this age are foundations for good health
in adulthood.

 Building life skills among adolescents and providing them with psychosocial support in
schools and other community settings can help promote good mental health.
 Programs to help strengthen ties between adolescents and their families are also
important
In the general Islamic perspective birth control is allowed,
for even during the time of Prophet Muhammad (saws),
coitus interruptus (azl) was widely practised, on a
condition that the wife has given her consent to it. 
Although the preservation of life or protection of progeny
is one of the objectives of Shariah, the quality of life of
the  children should also  be taken into consideration
“if you have the means,  marry two, three, or four...but if
you cannot do justice unto them, marry only one”
economic justice not only for the sake of the wife but also
for the forthcoming children
