RURAL AGRICULTURAL WORK EXPERIENCE (RAWE)
 What is RAWE?
 RAWE (Rural Agricultural Work Experience) is a programme
for imparting quality, practical and production oriented
education for agriculture degree.

 Importance of RAWE :-
 Preparing Agricultural Graduates for better career in
agriculture/ agribusiness
 Preparing Agricultural Graduates to face the challenges by
acquiring knowledge & skill through hands on experience.
Objectives of RAWE

 Understanding of rural life by students


 Familiarity with the socio-economic situation of village
 Opportunity for practical training
 Development of Communication skill in Transfer of
Technology
 Understanding of technologies followed by farmers
 Preparation of production plan suitable for local situation
 Development of confidence and competency for facing
problematic situation and finding solutions.
We are the group of 30 students from
“CAREER POINT UNIVERSITY”
We started our RAWE program from
1 July to 4 August 2022 under the guidance of
our Dr. H.R. Meena sir (Scientist Horticulture)
in ICAR-IISWCRC DADAWARA, Kota.

Practical works: a. Nursery exercise
Nursery is a place where seedlings, cuttings and grafts are raised with
care before transplanting.
What are the Advantage of raising seedlings in nursery ?
1.It is very convenient to look after the tender seedlings.
2.It is easy to protect the seedlings from pests and diseases.
3.Economy of land usage (duration in the main field is reduced).
4.Valuable and very small seeds can be raised effectively without any
wastage.
5.Uniform crop stand in the main field can be maintained by selecting
healthy, uniform and vigorous seedlings in the nursery itself.
Mother orchard at KVK, Kota

Mother orchard
The main objective of mother orchard is to propagate new
plant from mother plant.
1.Mango orchard- Square system (5x5 M)
2. Guava orchard - Square system (5x5 M)
3. Mandarin- Square system (2x3 M)

Repotting :- It is the action of placing an already potted
plant into a larger or smaller pot. Plants are usually re-potted
according to the size of their root system a pot that fits a
plant's root system better is normally used.
Model Dairy, KVK , Kota

Dairy farm is a class of agriculture for long term production of


milk, which is processed(either on the farm or at a dairy plant,
either of which may be called a dairy) for eventual sale of a dairy
product.
Key points-
1. 16 cows of Gir variety imported from
Amreli village of Gujarat.
2. Current milk production 50-60 litres
per day {approx}. 1cow = 8 litre
(approx)

Line Milk Parlor:- A milking parlor is a tool that


facilitates implementation of proper milking tech. while improving
the safety, and comfort of milking personnel
VERMICOMPOST
 Vermicompost is rich in all essential plant nutrients and provides excellent
plant growth and encourages the growth of new leaves and improves the
quality and life of the produce
AZOLLA:-
 Azolla is a small plant float in the waste and grows rapidly azolla is
very rich in protein vitamins and mineral.

 Azolla mostly used as feed for animals like cattle, poultry ,birds,
duck, also it is used as biofertilizer
Preparation of kitchen garden
First of all we have prepared the bed in nursery to grow seeds.
Seeds are grow for seedlings in nursery bed

Vegetable grown: Pumpkin, Cauliflower, Bottle gaurd,
Coriander, Fenugreek, Carrot, Tinda etc.

A. SOYBEAN PLANT
 Introduction
Riva Agro Foods, Kota, Rajasthan: It is the small scale food
industry, we visited during FET module of six probationary
scientist with Dr. Ramraj meena sir and Dr. Gunjan sanadhya
ma’am . It was established in the year 2017. This industry
manufactures and supplies agro products like soya paneer, milk
paneer, soya milk, soya meal etc.

B. CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE FOR
CITRUS
Centre of Excellence for Citrus is located at Nanta, Kota
(Rajasthan). It was established as Indo-Israel project under
mission for integrated development of horticulture under state
government of Rajasthan.

1. Inaugurated by Vasundra Raje (CM, Raj.) and ambassador of
Israel Daniel Carmon
2. The hot humid conditions in Kota belt are favourable for citrus
fruit.
3. Total varieties 26:-
Katol gold, Fair child, Pineapple, New hall, Navel jaffa, Nagpur
mandarin, Blood red malta, Freemont etc.
4. Best varieties:- Nagpur mandarin, Freemont

WORLD SOIL HEALTH DAY

Soil health day was celebrated on 5th December at KVK KOTA


in the presence of Vice Chancellor
Dr. G.L. Keshwa (Agriculture University, Kota)
Key points:
 Health cards were distributed to some of the farmer.

 Dr. K.M. Sharma create the awareness among the farmer about
the soil health.
