PHOTOGRAPHER ANALYSIS Luca Campigotto
The photographer is called Luca Campigotto and is from Italy and was born in 1962
The series that I’m interested in is called ‘Cityscapes’ from 2006
I will be analysing these 3 photos from the cityscapes series about light trails.

The images in his series are about evoking the spirit of each location and can be regarded
as indelible documents of a world about to vanish.
The first photo shows the light trails of movement of cars and bikes in a small town at
night with lots of people in an industrial background.
My eye is drawn to the light trails and the people displaying standing out in front of it.
I like the Contrast of colours in the image because all the lights and places in the
background all blend to make a perfect photo.
The photographer uses the photo style ‘leading lines’ for the light trails in the image. The
slow shutter speed on his camera has been used to make light from cars bikes and
vehicles passing by on the road. A lot of different light shades have been created.

The camera has been focused on the person at the front side of the frame using the light
trail as the background behind her. The photo has quite a shallow depth of field and the
photographer has used the aperture f/16 for the light trails. I think a very low shutter
speed has been used for this photo.

I intend to use this investigation to inspire my work by using his photography style
including Luca Campigotto’s camera settings and taking photos in industrial places. I will
be influenced by this photographers work by taking light trails of cars and things passing
by at night out in public using leading lines, I will also use long exposure (slow shutter
speed) 5

This one is very successful as it shows the perfect light trails hiding This photo was successful as the light trails created a nice
the car and has perfect colour contrast. galaxy effect and uses leading lines also hiding me.

This is my favourite photo as the colour is very vibrant and This photo was great because with editing I could change
the light trail perfectly hides me inside and blends with the the light trail of circles into a wide array of vibrant
bush. 1 colours
