Good day everyone!

Especially to our dean, Mrs. Mary Jun M. Palima, and also to Ms. Michelle J. Monteclaro, Mr. Alex B. Guirigay
and also to Mr. Novo Caesar Ensalada.

I am Jason Alfs Cuarenta, I would like to great you all a pleasant day.

We will be presenting our proposed study, entitled NMCI Human Resources management system with optical
character recognition. Together with my groupmates : Ms. Meshell Juanico, Ms. Jhanica Mae Aciga, and Mr.
Christian Quita.

And for the introduction of our study

Today's world revolves around computers. As you can see everything is becoming computerized. Tulad ng
nakasanayan na traditional way of enrollment sa NMCI they change it into a computerized way.

Together with my groupmates, we decided to interview Maam Jessica S. Resultan, the head of human resource
department because we heard that she wants to change the traditional way of archiving employee’s information
into a systematize way.

Human Resources Management System plays a vital role in facilitating organizational

processes overcoming all obstacles of a paper-based system, reducing cost, time and
effort, and enhancing the quality of services. This project is about to maintain and organize
the records of every employee in the institution. Hence, providing more accurate data and
it will ease the task of the HR managers. This study integrates an OCR that modify and
convert any type of text or text-containing document, printed or scanned text images into
an editable digital format. It overcomes these challenges and produces electronic format
from transformed paper documents.

Purpose and Description
The purpose of this study is to record or store, extract the information of an employee using
optical character recognition. This project will make centralization of files for the employees in the
institution. The system features composed of admin and user. This can lead to a process that is
effectively integrated into the system and can work considerably faster and more precisely than
the manual system.

Optical Character Recognition (OCR) is a technology that allows you to convert various types
of documents, such as scanned paper documents, PDF files, or digital camera images, into
editable and searchable data [2]. To process the physical form of a document, OCR employs a
scanner. Following the copying of all pages, OCR software converts the document to a two-color,
or black and white, version. The scanned-in image is analyzed for light and dark areas, with dark
areas indicating characters that must be recognized and light areas indicating background [3].

Limitation

One of the main issues with OCR is that when the pictures are not
static or when blur is detected, recognition accuracy suffers. Extracting
and organizing information from a document that customers take a
photo of with their camera or smartphone consists of a number of
conditions. In possibility of making a mistake during the data extraction
process greatly increases.
