Bandung as Sea of Fire was a fire that occurred in the city of Bandung on March
24, 1946. Within seven hours, about 200,000 residents of Bandung burned their
homes.

British troops as part of the Brigade MacDonald arrived in Bandung on October


12, 1945. Bandung was deliberately burned by TRI and local people. There were
black smoke billowing high into the air everywhere. The British Army began to
attack so fierce. The greatest battle happened in the Village name Dayeuh Kolot,
in South Bandung, where there were a large ammunition depot belonging to
British. In this battle, Barisan Rakyat Indonesia destroyed the ammunition depot.

The strategy to fire Bandung was considered because the power of TRI and
people’s militia was not comparable to the British forces and NICA. This incident
inspired to create the famous song “Halo Halo Bandung”. To remember what they
did and struggled, they built the Bandung Lautan Api monument.

The Surabaya Police have arrested a man, identified only as MN, for allegedly buying an infant via
Instagram.
MN was arrested at his house on Jl. Karah in Jambangan district in Surabaya, East Java, on
Sunday. He was found to have paid some Rp 3.8 million (US$250) for a baby boy when he was only
three days old.
Surabaya police chief Sr. Comr. Rudi Setiawan said recently that the transaction was conducted in
Semarang, Central Java, on Sept. 23. The baby’s parents live in Tangerang in Banten.
“The baby is now safe with the Surabaya administration,” Rudi said on Monday (The Jakarta Post,
Tue, October 16, 2018)

A galaxy is a collection of stars and other astronomical bodies,
including planets, comets and asteroids, held together by gravity.
      There are many different physical forms and measurements
of galaxies. These include the spiral, barrel-spiral and elliptical.
Our galaxy, called the Milky Way, is approximately 100,000 light
years in width and contains over 100 billion stars.
     The center of galaxies can contain many young, very hot
stars as well as older stars. Swirling clouds that have been
energized by magnetic forces also exist in the center.
     At this point in time, no one knows the exact number of
galaxies in the universe. Astronomers are, however, learning
more and more about them everyday.

Short Story
Long, long ago, when the gods and goddesses used to mingle in the
affairs of mortals, there was a small kingdom on the slope of Mount
Wayang in West Java.  The King, named Sang Prabu, was a wise
man.  He had an only daughter, called Princess Teja Nirmala, who was
famous for her beauty but she was not married.  One day Sang Prabu
made up his mind to settle the matter by a show of strength.

After that, Prince of Blambangan, named Raden Begawan had won the
competition.  Unfortunately, the wicked fairy, Princess Segara fell in
love with Raden Begawan and used magic power to render him
unconscious and he forgot his wedding.  When Sang Prabu was
searching, Raden Begawan saw him and soon realized that he had
been enchanted by the wicked fairy.  The fairy could not accept this, so
she killed Raden Begawan.  When Princess Teja Nirmala heard this,
she was very sad.  So a nice fairy took her to the Kahyangan.

The front door was open, so we rushed in and hurried from room to room to the amazement
of a doddering old menservants, who met us in the passage. There was no light save in the
dining room, but Holmes caught up the lamp and left no corner of the house unexplored. No
sign could we see of the man whom we were chasing. On the upper floor, however one of the
