• Criminology originally by two Greek word : KRINO and LOGOS

• It’s a study of accusation
• Its includes : causes reaction by law, technique for avoidance
• It’s a part of sociology
• Logical investigation of social conduct
• In 1885 RAFFAELLE GARAFALO came up with this term :

• It has sub group: PENOLOGY,BIO CRIMINOLOGY, FEMINIST,
IMPORTANCE OF CRIMINOLOGY

• Reduction in crime
• Its helps to understand the mind set of criminal

 POSITIVE SCHOOL

• In late 1800 classical school under the attack

• Three reason for attack : Increase in crime , rational ,punished offender

• Cesare Lombroso born in 1835 and died 1909 he is a Italian physician
• He found positive school
• He came up with criminals man : not developed sufficiently , long arms , large
amount of body hair , cheeks bones
• He believed on three class : born criminal , insane , criminaloids .

• Criminology created by Lombroso with ferri and goring

• He believed on born criminal later consider other factor
• Ferri credited for social factor with physical factor
• Goring acknowledged for criminals is physically and mentally deficient

• UGC established center for excellence in criminology
• Give funds to researchers
• Law makers take help of criminologist
• Then only it will make India well prepare for future.
