COFFEE ORIGIN
The ancient coffee forests on the Ethiopian
plateau are where most of the world's coffee
comes from. According to legend, the goat
herder Kaldi first discovered the beans'
potential there.
The Arabian Peninsula was where coffee was
first grown and traded. Coffee was known in
Persia, Egypt, Syria, and Turkey by the 16th
century, and it was grown in the Yemeni
region of Arabia by the 15th century.
