WHAT IS MEDIA?

Media - plural form of the word ‘medium’


- means of transfer of information
- it could be printed, broadcasted, or
digitalized

Our country is currently suffering from a global pandemic
caused by corona virus. You want to help your community by
providing the correct and relevant information on how to protect
themselves from the virus.
 What information will you provide to your community?
 What channel or medium of communication should you use to
make your message available to anyone or to more people?
 What is the importance of communication at this time of
crisis?
POSITIVE INFLUENCE OF MEDIA IN
COMMUNICATION
Stay up to date with family and friends around the world;
Find new friends and communities;
Network with other people who share similar interests or
ambitions;
Join or promote worthwhile causes;
Raise awareness on important issues.
NEGATIVE INFLUENCE OF MEDIA IN
COMMUNICATION

Becomes a source of misinformation and fake news.


A lot of people publishes whatever they want being
unmindful of the consequences of their posts.

environment and how to deal with our problems.
Knowledge is transmitted through effective
communication which is why we need to be
mindful on the information we received from
media. And from that we can be a media and
information literate individual.
