The Gujarat Agricultural University was established on 1 st June 1972. in 2004, GAU divided
into 4 state agricultural universities viz., SDAU, AAU, JAU and NAU.
Junagadh Agricultural University's vision is to search new frontiers of Agricultural Sciences by
undertaking basic research to breakthrough new areas of research and development of excellent
human resources by imparting innovative technological services to the farming community and
making Gujarat and India agriculturally prosperous.
To communicate the agricultural technologies to many farmers at a time, JAU has
organized/participated in different agricultural fairs and exhibitions. The profile of JAU and the

Interaction between scientists and the farmers was also organized. The literature on the latest
technologies was distributed to the farming community during such fairs and exhibitions.
