Login
Use Putty or Tera term (preferred Putty)

USB to Console Cable ( for login )

Change some parameter in Putty as below ;


Follow
New Router integration
Disable Auto integration:(Y/N) chose Y
Wait for initial boot
Please input filed support name
Now for filed support name : _ admin
For password : Ericsson123
Finally confirm the password: Ericsson123

Now ready for login


User name : _ admin
Password : Ericsson123
First step /Insert the Script that
received from Korek or During ATP
1-Copy the data of script from ( config ) till last line in the script ( “)
Below sample script for site Sarqala DY2816

2- Paste it in the Putty and wait till finish

3- The script downloaded successfully when the system host name of the script appeared on the Router
system hostname R6K_DY2816
Second step / Install SW
1- USB flash contain the SW with out folder /Name of upgrade folder is (CXP9034055_1-R8C) as below ;

Insert below step by step

1-Open session

save configuration /flash/ericsson.cfg

2-Go to the configuration mode

3-Enable the USB media port

system usb-port

4- End the USB port configuration to be ready for SW download

end

5-Check that the USB Media Flash was successfully mounted by changing directory to the /media/flash using
the command:

cd /media/flash

Note: If the message shows that: External media is not available. Perform mount command:

mount /media/flash

Mounted external media on /media/flash dir


6-transfers the SW file from the USB Media Flash to the alternate partition of the Router

release create upgrade-package file://media/flash/CXP9034055_1-R8C


Follow

6-Start downloading the upgrade package .

release download upgrade-package 1


7-Verify Upgrade package process

release verify upgrade-package 1

8-Upgrade package process

release upgrade upgrade-package 1

9-Confirm package process

release confirm upgrade-package 1


Follow
10-Check the SW release

show release upgrade-package


11- set the configuration

12-close USB port

no system usb-port
Follow
13-End the SW installation session

end

14- Save current configuration

save configuration /flash/ericsson.cfg


Restart the Router
Use the command ; reload
Deleting the Script
start shell

sudo rm ericsson.* // do not forget .&*


Ericsson123 //Password//

exit

reload
Activating USB port
 #config (inter configuration mode)
#system usb-port (activating USB port)
#commit (execute previous command immediately)
#Exit
 
Internal flash & External flash (USB Flash)
Hint1: To show the flash contains(External or internal), the router must be out of config mode
Hint2: we cannot read the flash if the USB port not defined
 

#cd /flash (internal flash of router is now used)


#dir (showing the contents of internal flash of router)
 
#cd /media/flash (external flash-USB-now used)
#dir (showing the contents of USB flash)
 

 
 
Backup
 
*configurations stored in internal flash of router in a file named (ericsson.cfg) ,so we will try to copy this file to USB flash as a
backup.
 
#copy /flash/ericsson.cfg /media/flash/ericsson_xxxx.cfg   (copying the configuration file from internal flash to USB flash)

Hint: “xxxx” represent the site code


 
Restore
*now to restore the router ,we should have configuration file (ericsson_xxxx.cfg) stored in USB flash (without folder) ,so we have to move it to internal flash
of router then force the router to boot using it.
  
#copy /media/flash/ericsson_xxxx.cfg /flash/ericsson.cfg (copy the configuration file (ericsson_xxx.cfg)from USB flash to internal flash of router)./ must be
as initial file name in internal flash “ericsson.cfg”
 
#config
#boot configuration ericsson.cfg (instruct the router to boot next time (after a restart) using this new configuration file)
 
#commit
 
#end (exit configuration mode)
 
#reload (restart the router)

you will requested to choose yes or no ,we should choose no because if we choose yes ,then router will boot using same old configuration file.

then we should choose yes and the router will boot with new configuration file.
Some Command
Command Function

ping Tests whether the host is reachable.

ping mpls ldp Initiates a Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) ping across a Label Distribution Protocol (LDP) Label-Switched Path (LSP).

ping mpls pw Tests the status of a pseudowire.

ping mpls rsvp Initiates an MPLS ping across a Resource Reservation Protocol (RSVP) LSP.

show bindings summary Displays summary information for the specified Permanent Virtual Circuits (PVCs) on the system.

show chassis Displays chassis information and the cards that are installed and configured.

show context all Displays a list of configured contexts.

show crashfiles Displays the size, location, and name of crash files on the system.

show hardware Displays information about the system hardware. For more information about troubleshooting hardware and interpreting
alarms, seethe appropriate hardware guide.

show rmon {alarms|events} Displays Remote Monitoring (RMON) information.

show system alarm Displays system-level, card-level, port-level, channel-level, or subchannel-level alarms.

traceroute Traces the IP route that packets take when traveling to the specified destination.

traceroute mpls Initiates an MPLS trace across an RSVP LSP or an LDP LSP.
