INTRODUCTION
• A Mutual Fund is a trust which pools the
savings of a number of investors who share
common financial goal.
• The money thus collected is invested by the
fund manager in different types of securities
• Mutual funds are corporation that accept
money from investors and use this money to
buy stocks, long term bonds, short term debt
instruments issued by government.

• To study the Investors awareness about
mutual funds.
• To determine the factors which compels the
Investors to invest mutual funds.
• To study the interest of the Investors for
investing in mutual funds.
Research Methodology
• Research Methodology means, "defining a
problem, defining the research objectives,
developing the research plan, collecting the
information, analyzing the information and
presentation of finding.”
• Such framework is called “Research Design.”
• The research process that would be followed
by me consisting following steps;

•50% of investors are between the age group of 20-40

• 46% Investors get information from agents.
• 23% get information from advertisements.14% of Investors get
information from newspapers.9% of Investors get information
from their relatives and 8% get information from their friends.
• 43% of Investors of age group between 40-60 invest in mutual
funds. Only 7% of Investors above the age of 60 invest in
mutual funds.
• 38% of Investors prefer media channels for making
investment.29% of them prefer financial advisor.19% prefer
distribution channels and only 14% prefer bank.
Suggestions
• The mutual fund companies should increase
their services centers and must provide full
information regarding mutual funds.
• They should provide some great offers to
attract more Investors.
• Advertisements are very less ,companies
should make more efforts to create awareness
about their mutual funds portfolio.
Conclusion
• Objective of the project is to know the investors perception while investing in
mutual funds. For this survey of 70 respondents has been covered in
Jalandhar region.
• With the help of a structured questionnaire various response has been
received .
• Out of 70 respondents it is seen most of them had invested in mutual fund.
• The tradition of blocking the money in post office, provident fund has been
changed to investing in avenues which guarantees good return and more
liquidity.
• In case of mutual fund financial advisor play most reliable source of
information for taking investment decision this shows that people are
becoming more aware by themselves.
• Capital appreciation, tax benefits and safety are the most important factors
for investors while doing investment.
