About this Product

● This would be a great, engaging task in which to participate after completing my adding and
subtracting integers lessons
● This is an excellent collaborative learning task, where students can work with one another.
● It’s differentiated! Integer expressions are broken down by difficult, medium, and easy
problems. You can hand them out accordingly to each group, and no students will ever know
who has what.
● Topic cards include topics that should be interesting for students. These can be edited.

● If you wish to purchase the entire integers unit, i have the following items bundled at a
discounted price:
○ Adding Integers
○ Subtracting Integers
○ Multiplying and Dividing Integers
■ Each of these lessons includes: a catchy song for remembering the integer
rules, examples and explanations of practice problems, slotted notes, slotted
notes answer keys, and a practice quiz through google forms.
○ Word Problems - google slide practice
○ Word problems - google doc worksheet
○ This adding and subtracting word problems task
○ Integer test - can be used as a pre and post-test
■ 2 versions: google doc, which can be printed, or google forms, which can be
taken and submitted digitally
■ Answer keys are also included - (forms will grade it automatically!)
Instructions:
● Cut out the expression and topic cards.

● Decide which students should get difficult, medium, or easy expressions. Group
accordingly.

● Students should work with a partner. Give each group 3 expression cards and 3
topic cards. Students must write a word problem that could be solved using their
given expression. Their word problem must be about one of their 3 topics on the
topic cards.

● Once students have written their word problems, have the groups pass their word
problems to another group. They must now write the expressions that go with the
word problems and evaluate them.
