WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF COMMUNITY
SERVICE?

• It provides students with the opportunity to become

active members of their community and has a lasting,
positive impact on society at large. Community service
or volunteerism enables students to acquire life skills
and knowledge, as well as provide a service to those
who need it most.
OTHER SPECIFIC COMMUNITY SERVICE

• 1. Help a neighbor or community org paint a fence or building

• 2. Spruce up a run-down playground
• 3. Help neighbors with repairs
• 4. Offer to patch up clothes and stuffed toys
• 5. Organize books at the library
• 6. Walk kids home from school
• 7. Rake leaves for an elderly neighbor
