ADTECH2 Q4 PRESENTATION

BILLIARDS CARDBOARD GAME

GAME BACKGROUND

One of the reasons why I picked billiards to be my

carboard game is due to the fact that it would be
easy to make. Another reason is due to the fact that
billiards is a pretty popular game. The last reason is
that billiards seemed like a fun game. However it is
a very complex game and can be played in different
ways which means a lot of people would not be able
to know how to play the game by just looking at it.

GAME MECHANICS

The objective of the game is to pot all of your designated

balls and then pot the 8 ball. Pool matches often consist of
several games in a “best out of format”, players attempt to
win as many games as needed to win the match. Players must
use their skills in both attack and safety play and tactical nous
to help them win the match. A player wins when they pot all
of their designated balls and then legally pocket the 8 ball into
their nominated pocket. If opposing player illegally pots the 8
ball before clearing their own set of balls or 8 ball is knocked
off the table by the opposition, then they lose.
GAME RULES

1. The object balls should be placed in a triangular rack and positioned at the lower
end of the table.
2. If it is the first game in a match, a coin should be tossed to decide who gets to
choose whether to break.
3. The player must hit the balls and ensure that four balls hit cushions and that the
cue ball doesn’t go down a pocket.
4. The first player to pot an object ball will then have to continue to pot the balls
from that category (light blue or caramel-colored ball) and the opposition player
will have to pot the other group.
5. If a player commits a foul, the opposition player is entitled to place the cue ball
anywhere on the table.
6. Once all of a player’s balls have been potted, they must then sink the 8 ball.
GAME FOULS

1. Failing to hit your object balls.

2. Hitting the cue ball off the table.
3. Potting one of the opposition's object balls.
4. Hitting the cue ball twice.
5. Pushing the cue ball rather than striking it.
6. A player taking a shot when it is not their turn.
GAME CONSTRUCTION

Although making the game was fun, it took me a

long time to make it due to it being quite difficult to
make, but after many trial and errors I managed to
make it. It was difficult to make because I needed
precise measurement so that the carboard game
would work. Overall, I think the final product is
good enough for me.
DOCUMENTATION OF GAME VERSION #1

According to my documentation, even though my

cardboard game looks good, my it is too small. However,
I think it is ok for a prototype. A lot of people know what
billiards is, however most of them do not know how to
play it. Thus, people need to be thought the rules so that
they know how to play the game. Overall, it was hard to
make the game but I was able to make it.
