Meaning of flood
Flooding is when an area is inundated
by very large amounts of water
 • type of flood

1. Flash floods
Flash floods are major floods that occur suddenly and
last only for a moment, generally resulting from high-
intensity rainfall with a duration (short term).
2. extreme rain floods
these floods usually occur within six
hours after heavy rains begin to fall
3. river overflow flood / post flood
This type of flood usually lasts a long time and shows
absolutely no sign of weather disturbance, when the
flood hits the plains because the old event that
triggered it had happened weeks before.
•THE CAUSE OF FLOODING

1. natural events such as rainfall over a long

period of time
2. Soil erosion leaving only rocks and no water
absorption
3. poor waste handling, so that the source of the
drains is clogged
4. Illegal and uncontrolled logging
5. construction of residential areas where
vacant land is made into roads, warehouses,
and parking lots so that there is no
absorption of rainwater
6. Damaged dams and or waterways

• occurrence of diseases such as

-diarrhea
-dengue fever
- skin infection

1. Don't throw garbage into the river
2. Carry out reforestation of plants
3. stop building housing by the river
4. reproduce and provide open land to make green
land to absorb water
5. avoid logging trees in debt illegally and also
around rivers
