 My Family and their Collections
Hi, I’m Tina and I’m twelve years old. I would like you to meet my strange family.
Why are we strange? Because we all love collecting things! First of all, there is my
father Tom Brown, he is 45 and he collects stamps. He started when he was a small
boy and now he has 864 stamps.

Then there is my mum Cathy Brown, she’s 39 and she collects teapots. She has 36
teapots now. She puts them on special shelves in our kitchen and she’s always
dusting them. Next, I have an older brother Joe, he’s 20 and he collects football
cards. He says he has 782. He’s always buying new cards or swapping with his
friends.
 My Family and their Collections
My younger sister is 11. Mary collects erasers. She has 43 but she doesn’t use any
of them for school, she says they are special.

And finally what do I collect? I collect sea-shells, each time I go to the beach I
always look for pretty or unusual shapes. I have 91 shells in my box but I have 15
of my prettiest ones on a plate on my desk.

My mum says that we will soon need a bigger house if we don’t stop collecting. I
don’t think we will stop as it’s so much fun.
