 How did his career start?
 This Argentinian Striker’s footballing career started in 1995 at
Newell’s Old Boys , where he played until the year 2000.

 At thee age of 13, Lionel Messi crossed the Atlantic to try his
luck in Barcelona , and joined the under 14s.

 Messi made spectacular progress at each of the different age

levels, climbing through the rank to Barca C, followed by
Barca B and the first team in record time.

 On May 1, 2005, he became the youngest player ever to score

a league goal for FC Barcelona against Albacete when Messi
was only 17 years old.

 At the under 20 World Cup in Holland, Messi won gold medal

with Argentina and then he won Copa America cup
(2021)and World Cup (2022) with his nation team.
 STRUGGLES
Lionel Messi faced some struggles as a child and through
his adolescence. At a young age , Leo was diagnosed with
a Growth Hormone Deficiency. Messi couldn’t grow. He
needed growth hormones(the treatment cost more than
half of his father’s wage , around 900$). The only way
Messi’s family ended up receiving the help for the
treatment was through FC Barcelona. FC Barcelona
provided the growth hormones as long as Messi signed
with them. This was a big help to the Messi’s family.
Every night, Messi had to inject himself with growth
hormones.
 ACHIEVEMENTS
 Messi ha had many achievements throughout his
successful career.

 The most important of those achievements was

the winning of seven Ballon d’Or awards. Messi
became the first to be awarded Best Player of
the Year four times and the first to win in four
straight years, 2009-2012 and 2019 and 2021.

 Messi has also broken the record for most goals

in a year, surpassing Gerd Muller, with 91 goals.
OPINION
I feel Messi is a great role model to kids
everywhere because of the struggles and doubts
he had to overcome. I believe Messi is the best
player the world has ever seen. I feel that Leo’s
accomplishments have changed and impacted
the world of football completely. His personal
contributions have impacted the world, not just
in football, but outside the football world.
