known as the founder of psychoanalysis. Freud
developed a set of therapeutic techniques centered
on talk therapy that involved the use of strategies
such as transference, free association, and dream
interpretation.

Development?
• Is a time when an individual seeks pleasure
from various areas of the body associated with
sexual feelings.
STAGES:

ORAL
• A child derives pleasure from oral activities.
• Sucking and chewing
ANAL
• Ability to control bowel movement is the
source of pleasure.
• Potty training
PHALLIC
• Rivals parent affection
• Oedipus complex
• Electra complex
LATENCY
• Sexual urges are usually repressed.
• Interacts with the same sex peers.
GENITALS
• Sexual urges reawakened towards opposite
sex.
