 What is redcap mobile app?
• REDCap=Research Electronic Data Capture
• The REDCap Mobile App is an application that install on tablet or mobile
device that gives you the capability to collect your REDCap data in an
offline (without internet) environment and sync the data back to your
project on the REDCap server when it is connected to the internet.
• This types of data collecting system is fast ,more efficient and reliable data
collecting methods.

• You don’t need to use pen, pencil, paper
• It enable you to send collected data from remote area.

Inclusion criteria
•
▪ Between the ages of 10-19 years
▪ Written informed consent from parent or guardian if under age 18.0
▪ Informed assent from participants under age 18.0
▪ Written informed consent if age between 18.0 or 19.9 (<20)
▪ Resident of the study area and who intend to stay in the study area for
the duration of the study
 App users
• Admin:-An admin can add users and customize user rights
• Data collector:-: Allows a user to setup/remove projects, send data, delete records and
view/modify existing records. The user will have their normal login for the REDCap
server and a separate unique login for the REDCap Mobile App
Data collecting process
Step 1.Login to redcap app find button ‘My Projects’ click it .
Step2.Tab(click) project name.
Step 3.Tap(click ) button ’Collect Data’.
Step 4. Select instrument(form).
Step 5. Tab(click) button ‘Create New Record’
Step 6.Fill the form and save records(one of three options).
Step 1.Login to redcap app find button ‘My
Projects’ click it .
Step2.Tab(click) project name.
Click project name
Step 3.Tap(click ) button ’Collect Data’.
Step 4. Select instrument(form).
Step 5. Tab(click) button ‘Create New Record’

Save your data one of three ways:
– Save & Exit Form: Saves data entered and return to record lists.
– Save & Stay: Saves data entered and remains on the same screen.
– Show More Save Options: - Which also have two option:
• Save & Go to Next Record: Saves current data and continues to next record.
• Save & Go to Next Form: Saves data entered and move onto the next instrument in
sequence.
 Send Data to the Server
• Sending Data When back online, you can send data to the project’s
REDCap server. This will coordinate the mobile device’s data with the
main REDCap project.
Step 1. In the app, click on ‘Send Data to Server’.

Step 2. Click the “Begin Send All Data/Select a partial Set of Records”.

• After you did step 2 you will able to see pop up window like below .Click
‘Yes’ then the data will be send .
Send report result
If the screen shows Sync Complete
With green background and green
radiobox,Sending of data to the server is
succefull.
In addition to this sometimes you will
face yellow radio box which has no
problem your data is still send
successfully but if you see sync interrupt
with red text sending of data
To the server is fail so as this time you
have to try to check internet and
proceed send again otherwise if this
persist tell to your supervisor or IT team.
Caution while using tablet ?
• Installing, removing, or updating any software is forbidden. The tablet is
provided for REDCap usage ONLY.
• Internet browsing and social media is not permitted on the tablet. This
includes sites such as Facebook, Telegram, and YouTube.
• If the battery is at 10% or less, avoid data collecting because the REDCap
mobile app will disable interface to protect data lose.
• When you pick up your tablet, ensure that it is fully charged and a refresh
has been conducted in case of any form updates before leaving the health
facility. Updates and data will not be able to be downloaded on the tablet
without internet access.
