CHILDREN

BACKGROUND OF STUDY
This small group of studies of diverse quality, but there is evidence of
associations between parents’ mobile device use, attention to
caregiving and changes in child behaviour. Use of mobile devices
during parenting activities may be infrequent and brief, but it can be a
potent distraction that reduces caregiver responsiveness to children.
(Beamish N, Fisher J, Rowe H. 2019)
Emotional response to what they were reading on their mobile devices
also resulted in more frequent negative reactions with their family
members, especially if the email or message they were reading was
bad news or contained stressful information. Parents in the study also
described more attention-seeking behaviors from their children when
they were engrossed in using technology, which also resulted in them
snapping at their kids. (Sherri Gordon 2021)

Theoretical Framework
• Developmental Theory focus of developmental perspective is on
how human behavior unfolds across the life course, how people
change and stay the same over time.
• Social Behavioral Theory (Cognitive-Behavioral/Social Learning
Perspective) Theories in the social behavioral perspective suggest
that human behavior is learned as individual interact with their
environments
• Attachment theory focuses on relationships and bonds (particularly
long-term) between people, including those between a parent and
child and between romantic partners. (Bowlby J, 1982)
CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK

   EFFECTS OF
TECHNOLOGY
USING OF
BETWEEN PARENTS
TECHNOLOGY
AND CHILDREN

• The diagram will illustrate the relationship between using

technology and its effect to the relationship between
parents and children.
OBJECTIVES
• Generally, the study aims to determine the Effects of using technology
between the relationship of Parents and children at Barangay Poblacion,
Kabacan, Cotabato.
Specifically, this study aims to:
1. Determine the experiences and problems encounter of family because of
using technology
2. Determine what is the positive and negative effects of technology in the
relationship of parent and children
3. Determine the changes on behavior/attitude of the children and parent
4. Determine the relationship of Parents and Children using the technology
SCOPE AND LIMITATION
• This study will focus on the effect of
technology in the relationship between
parent and children, what are their
experiences and problems encounter and,
on their behavior, or attitude towards to each
other. Children refer to 10-17 years old. The
study will be conducted to Barangay
Poblacion, Kabacan, Cotabato.
DEFINITION OF TERMS
• Children- refers to a young human being below the age of puberty
or below the legal age of majority.
• Effect- it something that inevitably follows an antecedent (such as
a cause or agent)
• Gadgets- an often small mechanical or electronic device with a
practical use but often thought of as a novelty
• Parent- refers to the one that begets or brings forth offspring
• Relationship- the way in which two or more concepts, objects, or
people are connected, or the state of being connected.
• Technology- it is the application of scientific knowledge to the
practical aims of human life or, as it is sometimes phrased, to the
change and manipulation of the human environment.
METHODOLOGY
Research Design
• This study will be using the descriptive-
correlational research design.to know the
level of effects of use of technology between
the relationship of parent and children.
Research Locale and Participant
The research will be conducted at Barangay Poblacion,
Kabacan, Cotabato and the participants are the Parents and
Children. The participants of the study will be selected
according to the following criteria:
a.)Parent who often use technology and children 10-17 years
old
b.)Their willingness and availability to participate in the study
The participant of the study will be determined with the use
random selection.
Research Instrument
Quantitative-survey questionnaire
• In gathering data, the researchers will be
using a survey questionnaire in collecting
data.
Data Gathering Procedure
The researchers were guided by the following guidelines in conducting the data
gathering:
• To begin with, the researchers will write a consent letter to the Barangay to
conduct the study. This can also be explained to the barangay officials who
will be assisting the researchers in their research. In gathering the data, the
researchers giving the survey questionnaire the researchers will administer
and facilitate during gathering data. The health protocol must be followed to
ensure the safety of both the participants and the researchers due to the
pandemic. In addition, during gathering data, the researchers will explain the
importance and goals of this study. In gathering data, the researcher will
make sure the confidentiality, honesty, and sensitivity. After they finish
answering the survey questionnaire the researcher will personally retrieve the
questionnaire and collation, tallying and computation will be followed for
statistical treatment.
Data Analysis
Statistical tool will be using in analyzing the data
gather were frequency and Percentage distribution.
Weighted Average Mean (WAM) and Chi Square
percentage will be using to express how large or
small one quantity is, relative to another quantity
while WAM will be using to obtain the level of
effectiveness of using technology in the relationship
between parents and their children
