climate change

INTRODUCTIO
• N
The increase of the planet's natural greenhouse effect,
which traps heat in the atmosphere and is brought on by
emissions of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse
gases, is what leads to climate change.

• Climate change is the term used to describe the global

phenomena of climate transformation, which is
characterized by changes in the planet's typical climate
in terms of temperature, precipitation, and wind.
WHAT CAUSES CLIMATE
CHANGE?
● Global warming is a result
of some gases in the
earth's atmosphere acting
like a greenhouse glass,
trapping the sun's heat and
preventing it from escaping
into space.
WHAT CAUSES
CLIMATE CHANGE?
WHAT CAUSES CLIMATE
CHANGE?
Two main causes:
1. Natural Causes
2. Human Activities
NATURAL CAUSES
VOLCANIC ERRUPTION
internal variability
OCEAN CURRENTS
chANGES OF NATURALLY
OCCURING CO2
SOLAR VARIATION
OCEAN EARTH’S ORBITAL
CHANGES
HUMAN ACTIVITIES
A wide range of social, cultural, and natural
resources could be impacted by climate
change, which could damage our
environment. For instance, this might have a
major effect on infrastructure, transportation,
energy, food, and water sources.
WHAT SHOULD WE DO?
Government
• By limiting the release of greenhouse gas
emissions that are warming the earth, the
community may contribute to mitigating
climate change.
By adapting renewable energy sources like:
Retrofitting building is
the method of energy-
efficient technologies
to structures that were
not originally built with
them, making the
retrofitting buildings to
make them more
energy efficient.
Helping places create more environmentally friendly
transportation systems including bus rapid transit,
electric automobiles, and the usage of biofuels while
also enabling more environmentally friendly land and
forest use
International action
• Producing precise and timely inventories of
greenhouse gas emissions.
• Integrating climate change into decisions involving
coastal activities, agriculture, industry, energy, and
other natural resources.
• Promoting programs to slow climate change.
Kyoto Protocol

• Countries are allowed to buy and sell "components" and

"credits" related to greenhouse gas emissions under the
Protocol.
• This is a method for funding projects in developing countries
that prevent or reduce emissions.
• A system designed to improve efficiency and lower emissions
from the "transition economies" of central and eastern Europe
grants industrialized nations "emissions reduction units" for
funding projects in other developed nations.
Do your part:
• Use energy-efficient light bulbs; they consume 75% less energy and last 12
times longer than ordinary bulbs.
• Reduce the temperature by just 1°C to save 10% on your utility costs.
• Reconsider your trash; instead of putting it in the trash, reduce, reuse, or
recycle it.
• Switch to an energy-efficient refrigerator or freezer to replace your old one.
• Only heat up the water you actually need. One cup of tea will result in up to
eight times greater carbon dioxide emissions when a full kettle is boiled.
• Always turn off appliances while they're not in use.
• Start planting your own vegetables.
Shopping
• Buy locally produced food that is seasonal and
organic, and you’ll help reduce the environment
impact of transporting food (via air travel and
shipping) from across the globe.

transportation
• Implementing a vehicle program. Whether you choose
to commute by walking, biking, taking public
transportation, or sharing a vehicle, the adjustments
you make to your mode of transportation will greatly
reduce your carbon dioxide emissions.
• Around the world, 1.4 billion people depend on traditional fuels like
coal and wood to meet their necessities. It causes environmental
damage and causes millions of individuals lead to premature death.
The demand for energy is expected to increase by more than 50%
globally by 2035, and even more rapidly in developing countries. As a
reason, we need clean energy that won't harm the environment.
• The phrase "energy crisis" describes the process of an energy
shortage due to the market's continuously increasing demand. The
increasing need for more energy resources from the world's
constantly increasing population is one of the biggest contributors to
the energy production crisis.
• One of the most effective approaches to lessen global reliance on
non- renewable resources (coil, gas, oil). Converting renewable
energy sources, such as the sun and wind, into (sun, wind water, and
steam), because there is no emission of greenhouse gasses involves,
pollution is minimal and it is significantly cheaper to use hydropower
and biomass energy, wind energy, and the sun’s power.
