Surface Graph
This chart is useful when you are looking for optimal combinations between two sets
of data. Like a topographic map, colors and patterns indicate areas that are in the
same range of values. You can create a surface chart when the categories and data
series are numeric values.
How to insert a surface chart in Excel
step by step
 The first of all will be to group the data in a table with the X (abscissa) and Y
(coordinates) axes.
 when you have the data ready, select all the x and y values and follow the Insert >
Other graphics > Surface itinerary, where we select the 3D graphic since at first it
will make our work much easier -at the end we will see how to pass it to a two-
dimensional plane-.
 the surface plot is much easier to interpret than when we entered the data. You can
choose to leave it as it is, in three-dimensional format, or send the graphic to the
plan. To do this we select the graph and follow the itinerary Design > Change
graph > Plan view. The graph will go from 3D to flat, respecting at all times the
variables and colors that we have introduced.
