IEP kiddos:
Cohen and Hunter both have IEP goals. Their assessment
binder is located in the bottom right drawer of my desk.

Push In/ Pull Out:

Cohen and Hunter also receive speech services. Ms. Monat takes
them into her work room. Hunter in the AM, and Cohen in the
afternoon. Cohen also has OT support. We have not seen her yet,
but she is supposed to be available to problem solve when needed.

Allergy Information:
Ila – allergic to tree nuts, green peas, oranges and sesame
seeds/sesame seed oil (when in contact with items, Epi-pen in her
backpack.
William – Lactose intolerant – dairy ease medication in nurse’s
office.
Fire Drill:
Grab emergency bucket(located near girls restroom and
closet), students will exit the building through preschool
entrance doors. Walk through the grass toward the field
house/ bleachers. We will then turn to face the building.
Teacher will record missing/ extra students/ staff. Turn in
blue slip to a safety team member.

Tornado Drill:
Grab emergency bucket (located near girls restroom and
closet) and walk to teacher lounge. We practice ducking and
covering near the vending machines. If there were a real
tornado we would join the kindergarten classrooms in the
restrooms in the lounge.

Dangerous Intruder Drill:

Please review lesson plan with options located behind this
sheet. Run, Hide and Fight would be the options to choose
from. Please place black paper over door window that
enters the hallway.
Please place the sign-in and out binder in vestibule space
around 8:30. Families are welcome to come in to the
vestibule and sign their child in. The preschool doors open
at 8:45. Please take lunch count paper with you and greet
each child as they enter the room.

Children should: hang up their backpacks, bring in their

folder, water bottle and lunch box when they bring cold
lunch. In the room, they will put water bottles at their table,
place folders in the green basket, sign in their pencils on the
whiteboard, wash their hands and return to table spots to
either eat breakfast or play table toys. At 9:00 please close
preschool door and submit lunch count through
PowerSchool. I always write the number of each lunch and
place it on the counter for Mrs. S to review before grabbing
lunch.

If there is a question of the day, the students will also

answer it during this time.
Mrs. S typically stuffs and packs student folders during
center time and after second recess she places student water
bottles in their backpacks.

Students are called to move to the cubby area where they

will put on their back packs and sit under their name tag.
Alice and Avery will need to sit down by William as they
do not have a bench under their seats.

Students are to remain seated until the teacher calls their

name to be dismissed. Parents/ adults will sign the student
out in the same binder they used to sign the student in.

Cohen rides Bus 18 M, T, TH and F

He will ride in a Ford Taurus on Wednesdays

Please send a weekly newsletter home on Fridays.
The newsletter templates will be ready for you to
edit on the desktop. Please save as a PDF and
send to parents via email. I have a preschool
mailing list named: 2022-2023 Preschool
Contacts.

Please check the All About Me schedule and send

home a poster with a yellow half sheet the week
before the students sharing. Mrs. S knows were
these are kept, but they are in the 3rd large drawer
down on the right hand side.
Attendance is taken with lunch count in the student information
binder and entered into PowerSchool shortly after 9. Please fill out
head start google doc for Tyler and Ty’Quon.

Students will wash hands at main sink and in the

bathrooms. Students should wait to eat until everyone is
seated.

Students are encouraged to use the bathroom during our breaks, but
allowed when needed. Students should really try to use the restroom before
recess. We ask the boys to sit down on the potty to avoid splatter.

Mrs. S can share the yes and not yet areas of the play ground. We really
encourage student independence when it comes to swinging and large
motor things, peers can help one another.

Should not be a problem, but check in with Mr. Carney or

Mrs. Swestka to discuss if it is appropriate for us to attend.
• Ring the red bell near CD player
• Hands on top, everybody stop
• Switching off lights quickly

• Set classroom timer

• Willabee wallabee song

Really focusing on restorative practices

this year. Refer to classroom promises.
We created classroom promises. Read
through promises and have students repeat.
When students are misbehaving redirect by
asking them, if they are following the
promises. For example, are you using “safe
hands and bodies…etc.”

Please have students move to table their

table to take a break if needed.

Erica knows the space really well. Most of the supplies are
kept in the cupboards in the classroom. However, extra
markers for play plans are in the closet cabinet - on the
lower left hand side.

GOLD Studies are in the closet. They are housed in the boxes
right as you enter on the 2nd and 3rd shelf. Heggerty is typically
located near the CD player. Second Step and Feeling Buddies are
located near file cabinet.
Monthly/seasonal activities are in the 3rd drawer of the file
cabinet.

Extra toys are located in the closet and in the

cupboards above student cubbies.
Holiday supplies are under the microwave and
on the floor to the back of the closet I believe.
The following people have completed
their volunteer forms and they have been
turned into the office. If someone else
would like to volunteer they would need
to complete the form directly behind this
paper.
