The diagrams below show changes that have taken place in the
Sawry District neighbourhood since 1920.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main

features and make comparisons where relevant.

This pair of maps depicts the changes over the course of a century in the
Sawry District neighborhood by showing the area in 1920 and 2020.

Over the time period, the area gradually transformed . In 2020 ,there are
more businesses, more housing, and greater public services. However,
not all businesses and services remained after 1920.

It can be seen that the business and the housing saw the most significant
changes. The cannery which existed in 1920 was replaced by an office
complex. Two of the houses near the Elmwood River were demolished
and replaced by a road and an apartment complex. Furthermore,
additional houses and shops were built as well as an apartment complex
and a petrol station along the Oak Avenue.

Regarding the public service, the change was less significant. Prestwich
Primary School was relocated to nearby the Miller’s Lake and then
rebuilt as a bigger school. In addition, a bridge was built over the
Elmwood River and a bike path was also constructed to replace the
small beach as seen on the 1920 map.

The diagrams below show the life cycle of the silkworm
and the stages in the production of silk cloth.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting

main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The given diagrams illustrate the stages in the life of the silkworm
and the making/fabrication/manufacture of silk material/fabric.
Overall, the life cycle has/consists of/involves five stages which
starts/begins with the laying of eggs and ends with the birth of
adult moths from cocoons/ the transformation of cocoons into
adult moths. Meanwhile, the making/manufacture of silk material
is a man-made linear process which involves five steps.

It can be seen that the adult moths lay their eggs at the first
stage of the life cycle of the silkworm. It takes 10 days for the
eggs to hatch into silkworm larvae which eat/consume/feed on
mulberry leaves. After 4-6 weeks, the larvae become covered in
silk thread before turning into cocoons in the period of 3-8 days.
Lastly, after 16 days, they transform into adult moths.

Regarding the manufacture of silk material, cocoons are first

selected and then boiled in the water. In the next
step/Afterwards/Later, the cocoons are unwound into a silk thread
with a length of 300 – 900 meters. Lastly/Later/Finally, it can be
followed by two options. The first one, the silk thread is twisted
before being dyed, while the second one is a process in which the 10
thread is twisted, woven, and then dyed.
