Reference
The project aims at developing a speed control system for DC motors
1. Introduction in four quadrants i.e. clockwise, anti-clockwise, forward brake and
reverse brake. The project is useful to be used in industries for moving
motors in both directions i.e. clockwise and anti-clockwise and can
even apply forward and reverse brakes whenever required
2. Objectives

● Reduce the time of switching due to PWM.

● Requires least maintanence.
● It is user friendly.
● Safer to used.
3. Project Layout
4. Required Tools
● Hardware Specifications
● 8051 Microcontroller
● Crystal Oscillator
● Resistors
● Capacitors
● Transistors
● Cables and Connectors
● Diodes
● PCB and Breadboards
● LED
● Transformer/Adapter
● Push Buttons
● Switch
● IC
● IC Sockets
● DC Motor
● Software Specifications
● Keil µVision IDE
● MC Programming Language: Embedded C
5. Time Frame

● Planned to complete by Asar

● Time could be extended for additional loads
Conclusion
The hardware for four quadrant dc motor speed
control using microcontroller is designed. It is
proved to be operated so simple. It is practical
and highly feasible in economic point of view and
has an advantage of running motors of higher
ratings.
