AIM: Participants can share knowledge for
teaching speaking to improve the quality of
teaching speaking
Objective: participants are able to
1.choose a certain technique for teaching
speaking
2. write lesson plan and material for
teaching speaking
3. conduct teaching speaking

3. What do students need in order that they
can involve is speaking

1. To encourage students to speak
2. To motivate students involve in speaking
activity
3. To train students to use suitable and
meaningful language forms in speaking
4. To develop students skills and fluency in
speaking

Some General Problems
1. Students do not know what to say
2. Students do not know how say
something
3. Some students are reluctant to speak
4. Some students are shy
5. They are afraid of making mistake

SPEAKING
1. Knowledge of context ( content)
2. Knowledge of language :
a. vocabulary
b. structure
c. pronunciation, stress, intonation, ets
3. Listening skills
4. Confidence
5. Motivation of speaking and encouragement
6. Interesting and contextual activities in which they can practice
speaking. ( gap information)

We can use EGRA technique or PPP

The teacher elicit students knowledge

discuss some words, or give other
tasks

dialogue, in which there are some
useful expressions for
communication

by giving them leading questions

John: Can I help you?
Bill : yes, Please. Could you please tell
me the way to the station?
John: Go down the road , and turn right
after the station

C. REINFORCEMENT
1. The teacher give feedback on
language fuctions
2. Teacher gives the opportunity to the
students to ask questions
3. The teacher gives tasks to the
students to practice the language
forms ( Structured Tasks) such as :
making sentences, giving response,
etc

1.should be related to the language( gambits)
used during while activity
e.g: asking for suggestion & giving suggestion)
2. Students also can use additional language
forms that they know e.g: asking for suggestion,
giving suggestion and giving opinion)
3. The task should be rather short and involve
other skills e.g : completing a dialogue with
suitable words, matching, transform a
paragraph into a dialogue
