COLD PUNCHING

MACHINE-1
• CPM-1 is a critical equipment of PLATE MILL
area-2 in which plates are marked and Thus, this
marking helps in identification of plates .
In the punching process data (PLATE ID/NUMBER )
is entered into Host computer Which sends data
to the machine ,machine then transfers data to
Terminal unit which shows complete data which is
to be marked also the status of punching
trolley/machine .
• Punching is done only when plate is in stationary
condition, (i.e. roll table 2088 should be in
stopped condition  )for this purpose an interlock
has been provided with help of a limit switch 
• There are 10 number of punchers in the
punching trolley which mark 5 lines on the
plate .
• Movement of these punchers is controlled by
the 2 number of stepper motors in X Axis
stepper motor and Y Axis stepper motor .
• Both stepper motors receive commands from
Micro Computer and move accordingly to punch
desired marking.
• The drive with stepper motors enables the
punchers to move in an X-Y co-ordinate system
and Thus, generate characters
