 The Kanchanjunga Appartments,designed
by Charles Correa are direct response to
present culture,the escalating
urbanization and the climatic conditons
for the region.
 Vernacular Architecture
 He odserved old Indian bungalows
provided a comfortable living
environment to occupants,bungalows
wrapped a protective layer of verandas
around living ares,offering two lines of
defence to occupants against the
element.
 The building is a Pathways
square tower.
 Gaps are created in
that tower.
 Two floor high loggias
are created to keeo
out the sun and take
in the cool sea
breeze.
 The building is
planned in east-west
direction to catch the
prevailing sea breeze
and to open up the
best view.
