This document discusses the three types of inertia: inertia due to motion, inertia due to rest, and inertia due to direction. Inertia due to motion is an object's tendency to resist changes to its motion when in motion. Inertia due to rest is an object's inability to change its state of rest without an external force. Inertia due to direction is an object's inability to change its direction of motion without an external force. Examples are given for each type, such as passengers leaning when a bus stops due to inertia of motion or falling backwards when a stationary car starts due to inertia of rest.

• All the Different Types Of Inertia :-
• Inertia due to Motion
• Inertia due to Rest • Inertia due to Direction - Inertia, What is Inertia? • Inertia – The natural tendency of an object to resist a change in a state of motion or of rest. • Depends on the mass of the body. • Greater the mass greater the inertia. • They are of 3 types :- - Inertia due to Rest - Inertia due to Motion - Inertia due to Direction > Inertia of Motion
- The inertia of motion is the
tendency of a body to resist change in motion when the object is in motion. The body will have a tendency to move in the same direction with the same speed when acted upon by an external force. - It is related to mass. - For example :- - when a bus stops suddenly, the passenger tends to bend in the forward direction. > Inertia of Rest - The inertia of Rest is the inability of a body to change by itself its state of rest is called inertia of rest. - For Example:- - A person sitting in a car falls backwards when the car starts. As the lower portion of the car comes in motion where as the upper part tries to remain at rest because of inertia of rest. >Inertia of Direction - Inertia of direction can be defined as the inability of any physical object to change its direction of motion by itself. - For example :- - When a car moves along a round curve, the passengers sitting inside are thrown outwards. It happens due to the inertia of direction in order to maintain the direction of motion. Thank You
