• The system of units to be used

• Include brief summary of project and customer name(if known and allowed to
mention)
• Information on potential sites where the plant might be located
• Design life of the plant
• Environmental and geographical conditions at location - Basic engineering
design data (BEDD ) to be provided mentioning environmental , meteorological
( storm, rainfall , wind load , ambient conditions etc.,), and geotechnical data –
Soil conditions , seismic zone etc., for civil design to be provided
• Unit dependence (plant dependence if any)
Basis & philosophy
• Details of raw materials that are available, design objective (Summary -
feed stock and alternative feed design composition cases, product quality
requirements, off design cases, listing of all products destination, catalyst
cycle lengths, future requirements, staged investment requirements etc.,)
• Design capacity – The unit shall be designed to process (rate, units) of
feedstock or products. Onstream factor – Client may specify availability
targets. Stream factor – Operating hours or days per annum. Turn down
ratio
• Design feed cases – Case 1 / 2 etc., Alternate design cases or sensitive
cases
Basis & philosophy
• Information on the conditions, availability and price of utility services such
as fuel gas, steam, cooling water, process air, process water and electricity,
that will be needed to run the process
• The national, local or company design codes & standards that must be
followed - The document should mention specifically regulatory approvals
required for the project from all statutory authorities as this may have
implication on design
• Process design conditions – Include process description (if known), process
parameters like pressure / temperature etc.,. Include all utilities design
conditions (like power, water, Nitrogen, Air etc.,). Battery limit conditions
• Summary of major equipment’s / facilities, buildings etc.,
